Independence day is finally here. This popular American holiday celebrates the anniversary of the forming of the United States of America, and with it being in early July many people celebrate by hosting or attending outdoor parties with friends and family. Those parties typically feature sunshine, music, swimming, fireworks and most importantly; food. Everyone loves food, and it may even be the most popular part of the 4th of July. Many people make extravagant dishes or grill meats and other foods all day long, feeding themselves and their guests. Here are a few of the best foods to have at your 4th of July party.

Burgers and Hot Dogs

The foods that are likely the most associated with the 4th of July are usually burgers and hot dogs. People love finger foods at these types of parties, and both of these sandwiches are easy to pick up and eat with a single hand while you traverse the party with a drink in your hand. Part of why they’re so popular is due to how easy they are to make. You just throw them on the grill and watch them, making sure they’re cooked evenly and don’t get burnt. To make it even more exciting, offer a variety of condiments and toppings for them. People enjoy crafting their own burgers and hot dogs, and this could be a surefire way to make sure everyone is satisfied.

Chicken Wings

Chicken wings are another popular meat and party food, especially if you have some type of dip for them. As mentioned previously, party goers seem to gravitate towards finger foods (especially dippables), and will likely be a  hot commodity at your party. To have more variety, you can make traditional or boneless wings, as people have different preferences. There’s also the option of doing wings with different sauces. Some people like hot sauce, others like honey mustard. The potential is practically limitless.

Pie (and other desserts)

While having food you can grill is great, no party is complete without an awesome dessert. One of the most popular desserts is pie! A variety of different flavors exist when it comes to pie, such as Cherry or Apple, and they can be the perfect thing to top off all of the other amazing foods you and your guests have eaten throughout the day (if they have any room left). Of course, there are so many different desserts you can have so if pie isn’t your thing, try cupcakes or cookies! Your guests will likely be overjoyed regardless.
