Cooking meals each and every day can become stressful and exhausting. Having to go out and pick all of the ingredients and use them before they expire, as well as trying to pick new recipes each and every day to keep things exciting is tougher than it may sound. In the past few years, a new type of business has emerged that is meant to alleviate a lot of the thinking and work that goes into this – meal delivery services. You’ve likely heard of a few of these. They often involve going onto a website each week and picking exactly what meals you want to make for each delivery. You can even pick dietary restrictions such as vegetarian and vegan options or low carb dishes. With so many great meal kit delivery services out there, it can be hard to pick the best one. Here are a few great options.

Blue Apron

Easily considered one of the most popular meal kit services in the United States, Blue Apron is a great introduction to these kinds of services. Each week there will be eight different menu choices for subscribers to choose from that tend to range from something as easy as pasta to various international options. The service also always has a seafood and vegetarian option available if that’s more your style. Blue Apron tends to have unfamiliar ingredients in many of their recipes, even the easiest ones, but they pride themselves on these opening the doors for educational experiences while cooking. Prices usually range from $7.50 to $9.99 per serving and you can choose between two to four recipes each week with two or four servings for each recipe.

Freshly

If you’re looking for the joys of a home cooked meal but don’t actually cook yourself, Freshly might be the way to go. Freshly prepares their meals right before they’re delivered to your door and never freezes them, meaning you get the freshest of the fresh with minimal reheating to do on your part. You have plenty of options to choose from, such as chicken and rice pilaf or peppercorn steak and prices only range from $8.99 to $12.50 per serving. Very few services provide fresh cooked meals in this capacity, so if that’s what you’re looking for then Freshly is the service for you.

Sun Basket

Organic foods are harder to come by with many of these meal kit services but Sun Basket is here to fix that. Every meal in the Sun Basket recipe book features organic and nutritionist approved ingredients with most of the meals only requiring about 30 minutes of prep time. Sun Basket even has tutorials on their website if you require a little extra assistance. The service features between six and eighteen organic meal recipes each week that also include paleo, vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options if that’s more your style. It’s unfortunately only available in 36 states as of right now, and shipments typically arrive on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 8am and 9pm. Prices are typically $11.99 per serving for a two-person plan or $10.99 for a four-person plan.
